Family, Service, Community & Friendship.
These are words that are rarely used to describe today’s “Big Box” retail outlets. Somewhere far away from here, it was decided that shopping for building materials meant wandering through an enormous warehouse with little to no direction. This meant receiving minimal support from the clerks, loading your own lumber, and seeing no friendly and familiar faces. Our response to that is simple – “That’s not the way we do business.”
IVEY'S FOUNDER
Mack Ivey
Mack and Roy Ivey founded Ivey Lumber Company in 1969 in an old sawmill in Logansport, LA. It was here where Mack, who ran the business, began laying the groundwork for what would become a thriving enterprise. His business philosophy was based on honesty, creating relationships, going the extra mile, and doing it all with his relaxing, sometimes humorous manner. After several successful years in Logansport, a new location was built in Mansfield, LA in 1982. The Logansport location was sold as Mack and his family moved to the Mansfield area to continue growing the business. In 1988, Mack was diagnosed with cancer and passed away shortly thereafter. He left an incredible legacy of service, generosity and kindness for Ivey's to continue to uphold.

What began as a small sawmill in Logansport has grown into something much bigger. Today, Ivey's Building Materials is a trusted destination for homeowners and builders across DeSoto Parish, known for our unique product selection, competitive pricing, and a level of service that’s increasingly hard to find.
We proudly support contractors throughout Northwest Louisiana with dependable delivery and a commitment to adding value to every project. As we’ve grown, we’ve expanded our reach—opening our Haughton location in 2013 and our Blanchard location in 2024—to better serve our communities.
More than fifty years in business has taught us many things, but one lesson stands above the rest: Mack had it right from the start. His vision continues to guide us every day—build strong relationships, go the extra mile, and never forget to greet people with a smile.
